INGREDIENTS

DONUTS:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup sugar
1 egg
½ cup milk
1 tbsp melted butter
Oil for frying

GLAZE & TOPPINGS:
1 cup powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
Toppings of your choice

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar to make the donut batter.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not over-mix — a few small lumps are okay.
  3. Heat the oil and pour 1–2 inches of oil into a small pot or deep pan and keep heat over medium to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, carefully drop small spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
  5. Remove donuts using a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain. Transfer to a cooling rack.
  6. Make the glaze. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
(Adjust with more sugar or milk for thicker/thinner consistency.)
  7. Dip each warm donut into the glaze or drizzle on top. Add crushed Yay's beef crisps and sprinkle topping of your choice while still wet.
  8. Enjoy warm for the best texture — crispy on the outside, light and fluffy inside!
