INGREDIENTS
DONUTS:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup sugar
1 egg
½ cup milk
1 tbsp melted butter
Oil for frying
GLAZE & TOPPINGS:
1 cup powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
Toppings of your choice
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar to make the donut batter.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not over-mix — a few small lumps are okay.
- Heat the oil and pour 1–2 inches of oil into a small pot or deep pan and keep heat over medium to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, carefully drop small spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
- Remove donuts using a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain. Transfer to a cooling rack.
- Make the glaze. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
(Adjust with more sugar or milk for thicker/thinner consistency.)
- Dip each warm donut into the glaze or drizzle on top. Add crushed Yay's beef crisps and sprinkle topping of your choice while still wet.
- Enjoy warm for the best texture — crispy on the outside, light and fluffy inside!
